Around A Pound Tandragee 100: News From The Paddock

As we build up to day one of competition at the 2019 Around A Pound Tandragee 100, just some of the most interesting bits of recent Tandragee based news, include a positive weather forecast!

Cool, but dry weather is forecast for Friday, Saturday’s qualifying, race action, which is not only great news for spectators, competitors, teams, marshals, but also for the hugely hard working event organising team, North Armagh Motorcycle & Car Club Ltd.

Dafabet Devitt Racing’s Paul Jordan is a confirmed non starter, for the Tandragee extravaganza, with the next gen Irish roads star sampling instead this weekend the second round of the British Supersport series, at Oulton Park.

Taiwan will once again have representation at Tandragee, courtesy of fans favourite, Roger Chen, who’s set to sample the Phillip Riddell Memorial Classics race.

This years event course cars, have been supplied by Ballylisk Car Sales, one of the course cars is none other than a Ford Mustang GT! which will be driven by Clerk of the Course, Anne Forsythe.

25 plus racers are set to take part in tomorrow’s newcomers practice session, showcasing again the popularity of an event which celebrates this week, it’s 59th year of hosting top calibre pure road racing action.

The full confirmed practice, qualifying running order for Friday’s competition at Tandragee, is as follows:

Roads close 3:00 PM

Newcomers Practice – 5 Laps
Junior Support Qualifying – 5 Laps
Supersport Qualifying – 5 Laps

Highlights of this weeks Around A Pound Tandragee 100, will feature on BBC One Northern Ireland, on the 23rd of May, airing from 10:35 PM.

I end this article on a poignant note, noting that last year saw the late but great Dan Kneen, claim his final roads success at Tandragee, winning in great style a gripping Grand Final encounter aboard the Tyco BMW.
