Around A Pound Tandragee 100: McGee Edges McLean In Gripping Supersport Encounter

Race action at the 59th Around A Pound Tandragee 100, began in style with a gripping, enthralling battle for Supersport honours between Mullingar’s Derek McGee and McAdoo Kawasaki’s Adam McLean.

There was nothing in it throughout between the hugely respected duo, with under 0.34 of a second covering them as they entered the sixth and final lap.

The final lap of another entertaining, top quality Supersport encounter would see the gap to long term race leader McLean, steadily reduced by McGee, who by the final corner was within ultra close proximity of the former Irish Road Race 125/Moto 3 champion.

The crowds in the grandstand, could sense a close finish was in prospect, and it was but who had clinched the first race spoils of today’s competition at Tandragee.

It was McGee aboard the B&W backed ZX-6R Kawasaki, who just had enough pace, gritty race craft to clinch a hard fought victory by just 0.312 of a second.

Rounding out the first ten finishers were Kevin Fitzpatrick, Preston’s Darren Cooper, current Junior Manx GP champion James Chawke and Spada backed Mike Norbury.
