The combination of Mullingar’s Derek McGee, and the Site Sealants B&W Racing Kawasaki, proved unbeatable today at Tandragee, as the 2017 Irish road race Supersport champion, claimed in dominant fashion middleweight class honours.
Consistently holding an advantage of plus five seconds, on the chasing pack, the affable Irishman at the end of six textbook laps, emerged victorious by a gap of just over 6.5 seconds.

Race runner up Adam McLean, won a close fought four rider battle for second, with just over 1.6 seconds covering him and Temple Golf Club Yamaha’s William Dunlop (3rd), Michael Sweeney (4th) and Derek Sheils (5th).
Reigning Junior Support/Senior Support champion Joe Loughlin, finished a fine sixth, whilst Skerries Andy Farrell and Darryl Tweed, seventh and eighth respectively, also productive Supersport voyages.
Same applied to the racers who finalised the first ten finishers, James Chawke and Yorkshireman Steven Procter.
Preston’s Darren Cooper lead the newcomers challenge in 12th, The Peoples Bike Team’s Rhys Hardisty recorded a solid 14th place finish, whilst others to battle their way to solid results, included the evergreen Paul Cranston (17th), Gareth Evans (18th) and ECTA Racing’s Mike Norbury (20th).
