Armoy Road Races – Preview

The Armoy road races first started in 2009 and has since gone onto become one of the road races that all riders want to win. Leading the entry is Michael Dunlop. Michael is set to compete on his Michael Dunlop racing CBR 1000 Fireblade Honda superbike whilst Michael is competing on a PTR prepared supersport Honda in the supersport 600 races.

Having won back to back grand final races at the Armoy road races in 2011 and in 2012, Michael will be confident of making it a hat-trick of grand final wins. The Milwaukee Yamaha team are running both William Dunlop and Conor Cummins in the superbike and supersport races at this years Armoy road races.

Both William and Conor will be aiming for podium finishes in all races as they both build up their preparation for the Ulster grand prix. Guy Martin has achieved multiple podium finishes at the Armoy road races and will be confident of achieving more at this years event when competing on the Tyco Suzuki by TAS bikes.

Ryan Farquhar’s KMR Kawasaki powered by Vauxhall team has a strong presence at this years Armoy road races. Competing for the team are Jamie Hamilton, Jeremy Mcwilliams and Connor Behan. Jeremy Mcwilliams is making his debut at the Armoy road races and is set to compete in the super twins race on a ER6 Kawasaki backed by the KMR Kawasaki powered by Vauxhall team.

Derek Shiels is having a superb season and has the potential to be victorious in the superbike races at this years Armoy road races when competing on the CD racing ZX10 Kawasaki. Derek is also competing in the supersport race competing on a CBR 600 Honda backed by the T&M racing team.

Seasoned road racers Davy Morgan, Ben Wylie, Seamus Elliott, Derek Mcgee and Michael Sweeney all have every chance of achieving top 5 or better finishes at this years Armoy road races. One of the leading newcomers for this years road race meeting at Armoy is Christian Elkin. Christian has being a 250 race winner at the North west 200 and is set to compete on a moto 3 Honda in the 125/400 race.

Its a top entry all around for this years Armoy road races, theres a great blend of many of the top road racers plus many a rising star and between them all where for sure in for some great racing this weekend at Armoy.
