By The news the three-wheeling community have been waiting for, Sidecars will grace the 2027 TT Races.
Made official today, a three-year tie-up is in place with road racing’s most well-known, publicised meeting.
Technical, race format changes outlined by event organisers, included:
- 600cc engines shelved, move to Sportbike engines
- Introduction of Mectronik ECU (Engine Control Unit) equipment
- Fins, spoilers, wings prohibited
- Two-lap race distances next year
- Potential lap mileage-increase for contests in 2028
- Aero (aerodynamic) based evolution to be trimmed back
Reaction across social media to the latest regarding the chairs Mountain Course comeback, has been varied to say the least.
As previously reported, 2027 Sidecar TT regulations are expected to be available before December.
