Saturday morning race bursts at a favourably-weather blessed Visit North Yorkshire, 80th Anniversary Gold Cup, saw renowned Oliver’s Mount specialists underline their circuit acumen.

TH Racing’s Joey Thompson moved onto thirty-two Scarborough wins in total, winning the Pub & Kitchen Super Twins race opener, holding off Junior 600 Classic TT winner Rob Hodson.

0.513 separated Thompson and Hodson whilst No.1 Sportbike pilot in third was TT Races lap-record holder Peter Hickman.

Ryan Dixon placed fourth, Senior Manx GP winner Johnny Stewart took fifth with newcomer Rhys Stephenson, who held third post opening lap circulation, P6.

Kieran Clarke/Rob Coppock despite late race drama at Mere Hairpin, held onto clinch F2 Sidecars Race One triumph.

The Ramsdens Steve & Matty were second, 4.707 down on Clarke/Coppock with third swooped by Mark Hegarty/Jack Knapton.

Sole Pre-Injection Sidecars equipped racers Greg Lambert/Andrew Haynes finished fifth overall.

Tom Weeden pipped the already highlighted Joey Thompson to Potter Plant Hire Classic Superbike success whilst the concurrently run Two-Strokes contest was won comprehensively by eight times TT winner, versatile racing all-rounder Dan Sayle.

The following Road Racing News Lightweights contest would see Stephen Gorton and Dan Frear duke it out for 400cc, overall race victory.

After six charging laps around North Yorkshire’s ‘Mini TT’, Leigh MOTs backed Gorton got the verdict over still 400cc lap-record holder Frear.

Oliver’s Mount Racing Director Andy Hayes was best of those on Super Moto tackle with Chris Meyer, Steven Allan headed the 125/Moto 3, CB 500 fields.
