By 2025 ‘Race of Legends’ winner Michael Browne upped his Armoy race wins haul to nine, after a gripping, basked in sunshine Roadside Garages Super Twins contest.
0.288 was all that separated the podium finishers (all inside previous existing Twins lap-record) with Browne who gave suitors Melbray Racing their first Irish national roads victory, ending the seven lap-encounter, just 0.054 ahead of pole-sitter Paul Jordan, who recovered strongly, following a poor start, banking on route to P2, a blistering new Twins lap-record of 1.47.046 seconds (equating mph wise to 101.160).
Not surprisingly an impressive Armoy newcomer, Richard Cooper (set second fastest lap of the race – 1.47.152) back in the KMR Kawasaki fold this week, finished third.
13.710 seconds behind the leading group, Michael Sweeney placed fourth with top Sportbike pilot, KTS Macadam Triumph Factory Racing’s Dominic Herbertson one position further back in fifth.
Sean Brolly (SB Racing – Aprilia) took sixth, Johnny Stewart (J Stewart Garage Services – Aprilia) held off TH Racing’s Dean McMaster for eighth.
Final top ten leader-board positions were scooped by Neil Kernohan and new wave roads talent, Lee Hara.
