By 133 Irish road race wins, nearing his own existing outright lap-record, in not perfect conditions, back-to-back feature race successes, Michael Dunlop MBE once again reigned supreme at the Around A Pound Tandragee 100.
Cut to four laps, the feature contest, sponsored by Around A Pound (highlighted above), held a similar story to earlier Supersport, Open races with Dunlop MBE battling for honours aside Russell Racing’s Michael Browne.
0.7 to the good out front as opening lap proceedings finalised, Armoy ‘Race of Legends’ winner Browne was keeping Dunlop MBE, more than honest, eating into his esteemed counterpart’s lead throughout lap-two.
Dunlop MBE steadied the ship on lap three, lapping close to sub 2 minutes 53 seconds, to give him a lead of just past 0.7 of a second, going onto the fourth and final lap.
Lap four’s story was Dunlop MBE and his own squads’ Superstock BMW, going into overdrive mode.
Close to record breaking pace, (2.52.6 lap time), the Ballymoney roads scene wizard, powered to victory spoils, the £1,300 pounds first prize, ending 2.929 in front of Browne who joined the Sub 2 Minutes 54 seconds T100 Club.
10.28 behind Browne in third was former Duke Road Race Rankings Champion, Michael Sweeney (Martin Jones Racing BMW).
Marcus Simpson won an all-IOM battle for fourth with Conor Cummins, Kevin Keyes narrowly bested Shaun Anderson for sixth.
Ryan Whitehall, James Chawke, Sean Brolly completed the leaderboard top ten.
