Opting for slick tyres ahead of Rapid International Supersport race action, Michael Dunlop MBE’s quest for further middleweight class roads scene success, did not start productively, as pole-sitter Michael Browne gained the hole-shot and opened by lap one’s completion, an advantage nearing 1.9 seconds.
As within the prior Open race though, the second lap would see Dunlop MBE (MD Racing/Scars Racing Ducati) get the hammer down and trim significantly Browne’s P1-intiative.
By the closing stages of lap three, Dunlop MBE lapping in the low 3 minutes bracket, held first.
Towards lap four’s finalisation, the race was red flagged.
Soon after, race officials, declared the contest would not re-start with results determined via competitors’ positions at the conclusion of lap-three.
Dunlop MBE picked up Irish road race win No.132, Browne (Boyce Precision Engineering/Russell Racing – Yamaha), Shaun Anderson (Stanford Racing Suzuki) were classified with second, third place finishes.
Full race results to follow later.
