By Just one week after the Sidecar Festival (including FIM Sidecar World Championship finale) at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben, the same German track hosted last Saturday, the fourth and final round of DLC (Deutscher Langstrecke Cup) with 6 Hours endurance race.
Unfortunately, fortunes were not prosperous for Team Harley-Davidson Bagger, ultimately-non finishers despite a strong showing throughout, holding P2 post 136 laps, five hours of the Endurance race contest.
Carrying the 131-plate, the H-D Road Glide ST by Wilbers product, weighing around 250 Kilograms with panniers on the sides, had quite the notable pilot in 2024 IRRC Superbike Champion, Germany’s fastest TT racer, 33 years old David ‘Datziii’ Datzer, who was joined by Andreas ‘Andy’ Schafer.
Entered within the same class, Team Triumph Rheinhessen’s Holger Vetter (started last month at Frohburger Dreieck in Open Supersport/Superstock 600 races) also did not reach the race’s conclusion.
Overall race winners were after 221 laps in total, Superbike class pace setters, BAM Racing #99 which included Dirk Walter (experienced with IRRC Superbike/ IRRC Supersport races) and Felix Kauertz (2023 podium finisher in Twin Cup at Frohburger Dreieck).
P3 amongst the Supersport equipped fraternity, eighth overall was the MSF1 team featuring Justin Hanse, last month double European Super Twin race winner at Frohburger Dreieck with Motorradtke GYTR by Penz13 and in 2023 and 2024 double race victor of Twin Cup encounters at Frohburg.
Ninth in the Superbike category, sixteenth overall, completing 205 laps, the Pan America Harley-Davidson team (121 start-number on H-D Pan America 1250 ST apparatus) had ex IRRC Superbike exponent, traditional post-race stunt riding entertainer, Thilo Gunther.
Others taking part included IDM Schleizer Dreieck experienced speedsters like Bjorn Stuppi, Bastian Ubl and Luca Gottlicher.
The next DLC season should traditionally start with a grand opening at the legendary Hockenheimring, usually on Easter Saturday.
