Classic TT: Historic Senior Race Seeds Issued

Day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute, the reinstated Classic TT is getting closer.

More enterprising pre-event news has been issued this evening, principally on those seeded for the Historic Senior Classic contest.

No.1 plate holder as in the Historic Junior Classic category is twenty-three times TT Champion John McGuinness MBE.

Three times a class winner, firstly in 2016, the Morecambe road-race legend is aboard again formidable Team Winfield Paton metal.

Former Senior Manx GP winner Joe Yeardsley (Flitwick Motorcycles/SMV – 500 Royal Enfield) holds the two-plate.

Fellow IOM resident, five times TT winner, Motor Isle Billown Course lap-record holder Dean Harrison (G50 Matchless supplied), follows ten seconds later, then its’ Norton Manx vaulted Jamie Coward, who joins Harrison in the Craven Classic Racing/Ted Woof team set-up.

2024 category winner, Shaun Anderson (No.5 – Peter Beugger Racing – Paton) goes next.

Then it is the turn of IRRC SBK Championship leader Adam McLean (Flitwick Motorcycles/SMV – 500 Royal Enfield), starting twenty seconds behind Banbridge’s Anderson with as-yet, no rider carrying the six-plate.

Respective eight, nine, ten plate holders are the in-form trio of Superbike TT winner Davey Todd (Steadplan Racing – TX500 Yamaha), Michael Browne (Peter Lodge Racing – 500 Norton) and Paul Jordan (Davies Motorsport – 500T Suzuki).

Eleventh away down Glencrutchery Road is twelve times top three TT finisher, Conor Cummins (Steadplan Racing – CB500 Honda).

Santon’s Michael Evans (Melbray Racing – Norton) carries the 12-plate whilst start numbers thirteen, fourteen, fifteen and sixteen have been assigned to Michael Sweeney (CSC Racing/IMS LTD – TX 500 Yamaha), Ruthless Racing Honda equipped Alan Oversby, Adelaide ace, John Chapman Racing MV Agusta jockey David Johnson and Minnovation Racing’s Will Loder.

The first twenty starters are wrapped up by Martin Ireland backed Barry Furber (No.17), Hefyn Owen (No.18) competing under the Owen Racing banner, Dan Sayle joining ‘Davo’ Johnson on MV Agusta exotica, thanks to John Chapman Racing, Armoy Senior Classics winner, CSC/IMS LTD/Red Torpedo Clothing supported Andy Hornby.
