Boyce Precision Engineering by Russell Racing’s race winning momentum from Tandragee to Imatranajo to the Southern 100, continued in earnest at Armoy, as Michael Browne powered to Hilton Car Sales Supersport race spoils.
Browne, quickest in the afternoon’s qualifying stint, finished the seven-lap contest almost 5.4 seconds ahead of Skerries Michael Sweeney (EM Building Yamaha).
Sweeney’s path to P2 was not as serene with the twice Junior Manx Grand Prix winner, having to keep at bay the prolonged attentions of Clyde Shanks Super Twins race winner, Paul Jordan.
Closely paralleled throughout, at the finish-line, Sweeney just, just kept second by 0.058 of a second!
Conor Cummins (BE/RK Racing) topped the European marques, Ducati challenge in fourth.
Factory Triumph propelled Jamie Coward finished fifth with Cowton Racing’s Franco Bourne, the top Armoy newcomer in sixth.
Barry Furber fourth in the prior Super Twins race burst, took seventh, Daracore Racing’s Kevin Keyes pipped Joey Thompson for eighth.
Erno Kostamo, representing-again Gerry Parker’s Parker Transport Racing team, earned tenth with Sam West, James Chawke, David Rigby, Sam Johnson, Neil Kernohan, sweeping up eleventh to fifteenth place finishes.
