36 Racer Strong Provisional IRRC Superbike Entry List

No less than 36 riders including established front runners, rising forces, Championship stalwarts all feature amongst the confirmed provisional entry list for this year’s IRRC Superbike series.

Reigning Champion Didier Grams, carrying the number 1 plate, will unquestionably start again as one of the prime title favourites.

The ebullient German who will continue his association with BMW machinery, is supported again this year by the G&G Motorsport, who’s official team name as in 2021 is G&G Motorsport by BMW Motorrad.

Likely main challengers to Grams include runner-up last year, Blau Powerbikes backed Lukas Maurer, the consistently improving David Datzer (MTP Racing/Syntainics Racing), Finland’s Erno Kostamo (Syntainics Racing by Penz 13) and returning former Champion Vincent Lonbois (Mototech Yamaha).

Added ones to watch include Joey Den Besten, Luca Gottardi, the Hoffmann by MRP duo of Laurent Hoffmann and Markus Karlsson, Daytona 200 entrant Kamil Holan.

The UK’s only current representative Mark Purslow, Virgil Amber Bloemhard and last season’s Supersport class pace setters Pierre Yves Bian (Martimotos Racing Team) and Ilja Caljouw.

The full provisional entry list for the premier Superbike category within the 2022 International Road Racing Championship, which kicks off on the 30th of April at Hengelo, Netherlands is as follows:
