Michael Dunlop’s latest Endurance World Championship, 24 Heures Motos (Le Mans) expedition, ended in disappointing circumstances with misfortune, technical aspects derailing suitors, Team LRP Poland.
Right from the race’s start, it was drama ignited for Bartłomiej Lewandowski’s squad, as opening competitive stint rider, Enzo Boulom tipped off on the warm-up lap.
Fast forward a fair dose of laps across the historic Circuit Bugatti, the outfit immersed itself within the top ten before TT wins record holder Dunlop, took the helm of M1000RR BMW apparatus.
In wet, saturated, ice-like conditions, ‘Maverick’ early into his stint was caught out, tipping off. Quickly back on his feet, he soon after ventured back to the pits.
2018 IRRC Superbike Champion Danny Webb then attained control but as the Team LRP Poland of Webb, Dunlop, Boulom trio neared 174 laps completion, the BMW steed (aforementioned) could give no more, it was game over.
12 more teams joined them on the race retirements list whilst 39 teams finished in total.
Outfits finishing, that contained pure road racing experienced riders, included:
TMC 35-PMO (22nd – featuring French TT ace Jonathan Goetschy, 2014 Manx Grand Prix participant John Ross Billega finished a respectable 22nd), Infiniteam Flam Racing (26th – Ryan Maher), BGR Czech Team by Maco (33rd – Kamil Holan).
Pitlane Endurance 86 (36th – Kenny Koskinen), Uniserv Moto82 Team (37th – Karel Pesek) and Artec #199 Team (39th – TT 2025 entrant Wayne Bourgeais).
