Post the Sredisce ob Dravi Classic Bikes ‘Slovenia TT,’ nearby nation Croatia centre stage event over the next few days, is the Prize of Krizevci (locally known as Nagrada Krizevaca) held on the Gornji Grad street-circuit (0.932 miles long – 1500 metres).
In-excess of one hundred racers have entered Croatia’s ‘Monte Carlo,’ including:
Last year’s winners, home club ‘MK Krizevci’ members, Luka Nervo (Superstock 1000), Karlo Grsic (Superstock 600), Josip Jacmenjak (Supersport 300) and Vilim Babic (Sport Production 125).
Local hero, the prior spotlighted Luka Nervo is the unofficial all-time lap-record holder (48.136 set during qualifying in 2024), 1000cc lap-record in the same year (49.124) however the official lap-record holder of Krizevci, remains idol of Croatian road racing fans, TT 2026 competitor, (attained two bronze replica finishes), Loris ‘Lorke’ Majcan (48.849 with 600cc tackle in 2023).
Previously mentioned, young Krizevci racing talent Karlo Grsic, was Superstock 600 race winner x2 from last week’s Alpe Adria Championship races in Hungary, which also featured Teo Sekulic (hails from Slavonski Brod), roads experienced pilots like Poland’s Dawid Dziedzic, Czech aces Michal Filla, Michael Prasek and Jiri Broz.
Its overall an upcoming super-weekend for road racing aficionados, with the Oliver’s Mount Barry Sheene Festival, Kells Road Races, hill climbs at Isola del Liri-Arpino (CIVS), Sancey Classic Hill Climb all thrusting into fruition.
Plus, traditional road racer’s adventures, Flugplatzrennen Walldurn in Germany, BSB at Knockhill, Ulster SBK at Kirkistown, BeNeLux Trophy/Belgian Twin Trophy at Carole, FSBK (French Superbike Championship) with World Sidecars at Pau-Arnos.
Aside the ‘Prize of Krizevci,’ additional Croatian road races arising later this year are the ‘Nora Race’ in Nova Raca (23rd August) and ‘Prize of Zelina’ at Sveti Ivan Zelina (30th August).
