Southern Hemisphere roads scene aficionados, super fans, attentions last week, were-fixated on the high-speed, Gladstone, Cliffhanger Hill Climb.

Clocking a best time under 2 minutes 14 seconds, ‘King of The Hill’ honours went to Jay Lawrence (aboard TSS Motorcycles supplied, showroom fresh 990 RCR KTM tackle), his first overall meeting triumph since 2019.

Classic TT competitor in 2018, a year later Lawrence had his only TT Races expedition, competing for Hawk Racing (Buildbase Suzuki).

Accruing seventeenth, twenty third place finishes x2, the Paekakariki racer left IOM shores with a top lap speed nudging past 125 (125.034 mph).

New Zealand’s third fastest TT participant, he presently occupies position no.99 in the all-time quickest TT riders list.

Lawrence’s top chaser at Gladstone was this year’s New Zealand Superbike Championship, Superbike Trophy Champion, nine-year-old ZX10R Kawasaki propelled, Nathan Kent.
