2026 CIVS Round 2, Deruta–Castelleone Hill Climb

The 1.317 miles (2.120 metres) long hill-climb circuit on public roads from Deruta to Castelleone hosted at the same time as Chanaz hill-climb and 300 Curves of Gustav Havel, the second CIVS (Campionato Italiano Velocita in Salita) round of 2026.

A ‘virtual chicane system’ premiered, for secure and fair competition.

Speediest racer of the meeting was, currently second placed in European Hill Climb Road Race Superbike Championship, rising-star Gabriele Pettica (1.13.94), SuperOpen 1000 race winner x4 (pictured on the article’s feature image – from Landshaag event this year).

Twenty sixth, twenty eighth in yesterday’s RST Superbike TT, Maurizio Bottalico (Deruta-Castelleone lap-record holder – 1.12.90 from 2025) and Stefano Bonetti, Francesco Curinga are true CIVS greats and multiple overall victors of this Championship. 2024 Junior Manx Grand Prix winner, Andrea Majola also boasts CIVS title triumph in his road racing/hill climb racing CV.

The next CIVS round initiating at Isola del Liri-Arpino (20th-21st June), clashes with the Barry Sheene Festival at Oliver’s Mount, Kells Road Races, Croatian Prize of Krizevci, Sancey Classic hill-climb, and Flugplatzrennen Waldurn in Germany.
