2025 NW200 Preview – Part 2 – Superstock

2025 NW200 Preview – Part 2 – Superstock
Widely considered the most pertinent class to manufacturers, Superstock tussles at all roads scene events, continuously yield high speed, thrilling activity.

Expect it be ‘Slip Stream City’ during the upcoming Briggs Equipment Northwest 200.

The one to beat in 2024, 8TEN Racing BMW’s Davey Todd is looking to continue his category supremacy.

Detailing recently, the challenges he faces with BMW’s latest generation M1000RR, the Brotton rider said:

“The new bike runs Motec electronics which are new to me, and it feels very different from the ’24 bike. Everything on the bike is different- the brakes, the suspension, the chassis- everything.

If there is one part unknown, there is another part that is very familiar. The team may be new, but the personnel are the same with Darren Jones as team manager, my crew chief, Stuart Johnston and Mike Barrett as mechanic.

It is a case now of just getting the parts together and we are already 99% of the way there.”

8TEN Racing co-owner, team-mate Peter Hickman is similarly positive ahead of international roads explorations.

No.1 from stock 1000 race outings in 2018 and 2019, Hickman starts again a forthright race winning contender.

Same notion applies to the most successful NW200 rider in history, the ‘Wee Wizard’ Alastair Seeley.

SMS/Nicholl Oils Racing’s Seeley pilots the same BMW, that propelled him to class wins in 2023.

Michael Dunlop, Conor Cummins (BE/RK Racing), Ian Hutchinson (MLav Racing), Michael Browne (MLav Racing), Jamie Coward (KTS Racing Powered by Steadplan), Michael Rutter (Bathams AJN Racing), Erno Kostamo (RVS Motorsport) are all BMW powered whilst Honda’s challenge is led by the likes of:

2019 Senior TT winner Dean Harrison (Honda Racing UK), John McGuinness MBE (Honda Racing UK), Josh Brookes (Jackson Racing).

Nathan Harrison (H&H Motorcycles), Craig Neve (Bathams AJN Racing), Paul Jordan (Jackson Racing) and Michael Evans (Dafabet Racing).

In terms of ‘Team Green’ entrants, anticipated lead Kawasaki runner is Platinum Club Racing’s David Johnson.

Added notable entrants in the four, six-lap Amici Ristorante, CP Hire Superstock races include Michael Sweeney, Eddy Ferre, Laurent Hoffmann, Daracore Racing’s Kevin Keyes.

Jonathan Goetschy, Ryan Whitehall, Sam West, NW200 first timers Barry Burrell, Mitch Rees and Joe Yeardsley.

As with the Superbike and Supersport classes, the Superstock NW200 entry of 2025 has a vibrant mix of works, semi works, International-winning, ambitious next gen road racers.

Pulsating action, dramatic overtakes, bold moves, intoxicating competition, are just some of the phrases that spectators and the wider roads fraternity more than likely will be echoing next week.
