To popular acclaim, Michael Dunlop MBE last night, kept the Irish Motorcyclist of The Year award.
Forthright, honest, candid as ever, the Ballymoney rider praised the people around him and said he feels he is getting faster year on year.
Once again not giving much away in relation to 2026 plans, he does seem keen to continue with a similar set-up to 2025, which featured his own MD Racing set-up, Ducati Supersport exotica and Hawk Racing.
Prior to holding aloft, the Joey Dunlop Irish Motorcyclist of The Year trophy, the 33 times TT winner gained Race of The Year laurels, recognising victory from an intriguing second Superbike race at the Briggs Equipment Northwest 200.
Padgetts Racing Team Manager Clive Padgett received an award; Davey Todd was presented with the distinctive looking 2025 King of The Roads trophy.
For a fare few, the top highlight was seeing Dungannon’s Paul Cranston, gaining the Services to Motorcycling accolade.
An Ulster Grand Prix race winner, last year’s Southern 100 would see the genial racer now in his mid-60’s win the opening Supersport (B) race.
