Circuit de Ledenon, 1.958 miles in distance (3.151 kilometres long), hosted last weekend the second round of this year’s FSBK (Championnat de France Superbike) series.
European Bikes category races would see seasoned top five Manx GP finisher, Scott Racing TT 2025 competitor aside Joe Yeardsley, Julien Cregniot register 23rd, 21st place finishes.
The French line-up including Cregniot for not only the TT but also the upcoming Northwest 200 is sharp. There are names such as Jonathan Goetschy, Amalric Blanc, Eddy Ferre, all members of the all-time rapidest Mountain Course, Circuit De Chimay, Horice pilots’ lists.
Plus, 2021 IRRC Supersport Champion Pierre Yves Bian, Yann Galli, Wayne Bourgeais and Guillaume Mercier.
Sidecar races at Ledenon saw victories x2 for French son/father duo, Ted Peugeot/Vincent Peugeot, the overall Sidecar lap record holders at Circuit de Chimay.
This means of course that they were not present for the second World Sidecars round at Estoril, one less opponent for those competing in Portugal including three-wheeled road race experienced names like:
Harry Payne/Kevin Rousseau (P2/P1 finishes), Pekka Paivarinta/Adam Christie (P5/P3), Tim Reeves/Mark Wilkes (P6 in Race 1, did not finish Race 2), Todd Ellis/Emmanuelle Clement (P4 in Race 1, did not finish Race 2) and Paul Leglise/Marjorie Cescutti (P8 in Race 1, non-finishers Race 2).
For road racing fans, lets also note that last weekend’s Brands Hatch, No Limits Racing extravaganza contained IRRC 2025 entrants, twice TT winner Gary Johnson, David Brook and Adam McLean whilst the Melville Motor Club, East Fortune meet included Chasin the Racin host, fan favourite Dominic Herbertson.
The next FSBK round will be at Nogaro (23rd-25th of May), the World Sidecar scene rolls onto intertwined action with Alpe Adria Championship participants at Pannonia Ring in Hungary (14th-15th of June) before activities in the Czech Republic aside the IDM fraternity at Autodrom Most (20th-22nd of June).
