One of a seven strong French contingent reacquainting themselves this week with the 37- and three-quarter miles long Mountain Course, Wayne Bourgeais is step by step building his confidence on the world’s most celebrated pure roads circuit.
As with virtually all competitors, over recent days it’s been tough the lack of track time, in-particular more so for Bourgeais, who endured a character building first qualifying session retiring on Classic Superbike, Lightweight 400 machinery.
Twice a top twenty MGP finisher, the Rennes rider backed by Team Objectif 2R/Basomba Racing elevated himself this year into the TT rider ranks. Speaking about his first experience of TT affiliated competition, he succinctly stated:
“Very enjoyable my first TT, I finished 26th (Super Twins Race 2) and I come back next year with a better bike.”
Post the Manx, the genial Frenchman is not discounting outings at Frohburger Dreieck and the ‘Southern Hemisphere’s Isle of Man’, the Whanganui located Cemetery Circuit Races.
“If possible, I go to Frohburg for the last round of the IRRC (International Road Racing Championship) but not sure yet and I have a proposition to go to New Zealand for racing but I’m not sure yet.”
