2024 Aberdare Park Road Races – Preview

Part of Greenlight Television’s King of The Roads series, there’s a buzz about this year’s Aberdare Park Road Races.

Lightweight, Ultra Lightweight, Supersport, Golden Era, CB 500, Welsh Open contests form part of a 27-race itinerary, with activities getting underway from 9:00 AM on Saturday (3rd August).

In 2023, the prestigious Welsh Open title, previously won by aces such as 2024 Senior TT winner Davey Todd, four times World Superbike Champion Carl Fogarty, 2013 TT Privateers Champion Dan Cooper and Ian Lougher was gained by Mark Goodings.

The Doncaster rider, is back at Wales only real road race as is to name but a few:

Cousin of Moto 2 World Championship race winner Jake Dixon, Ryan Dixon (Trickbits Racing), Martin Robbins, TH Racing’s Jay Bellers Smith.

William Holland, Justin Collins, leading Classics pilot Alex Sinclair, Oliver’s Mount Racing Director, newcomer last week at Armoy, Andy Hayes.

Max Dixon, Neil Connell, Austen Webster, Tony Griffiths, 2018 Newcomers B Manx Grand Prix victor Michael Rees.

Disclosed ‘Park’ newcomers include Andy Smart, Blake Kelly, Lewis Jones (Trickbits Racing) and Dean McMaster, joining the afore-mentioned, Bellers Smith on TH Racing Honda tackle.

Nearing it’s 80th Anniversary, the Aberdare Park Road Races is in its own distinct way unique.

The 0.9 miles long course whilst short in distance remains a potent challenge for those competing.
