TT 2026 competition procedures opened this morning in glorious conditions around the other worldly Mountain Course.
Firstly, solo newcomers (Gary McCoy-Rhys Stephenson) Sidecar debutants (Jamie Hanks/Jonathan Kirk-Andrew Miller-Ben Gale-Rob Coppock) undertook their acclimatisation laps behind Richard ‘Milky’ Quayle, John Barton and Greg Lambert/Andrew Haynes.
Solos/Sidecars free practice commenced at 11:03 AM with Michael Dunlop MBE (SC Project Paton) first away (Dunlop after one lap switched over to the MD Racing/Scars Racing Ducati).

Michael Browne (Boyce Precision Engineering/Russell Racing – Yamaha) was the first of the Supersport equipped racers underway, swiftly followed by Honda Racing UK’s Dean Harrison and BE/RK Racing’s Ian Hutchinson.
Early retirements included Manx GP rostrum finishing TT graduates Lewis Arrowsmith (Sulby Bridge) and Ryan Whitehall (Glen Vine).
