TT 2026 Chat: ‘Rammy’ Three Wheeling Stalwart Steve Ramsden

“Nice to get head back into the bumps, very strange to get back on bike again, but it was good to get that one lap.”

Steve Ramsden’s reaction to re-entering Mountain Course competition mode on Monday.

It’s thirty-one years since ‘Rammy’ first made his TT debut, eleven since son Matty (ACU/FSRA British F2 Championship leader aside Ben Stell) joined him for TT endeavours.

“Come back with Matt in 2015 and it’s been good ever since.”

Over the past sixteen years, twenty-three times an Oliver’s Mount, Scarborough race winner, the Yorkshireman’s TT 2026 outfit (Louis Christen Racing Honda) is-directly backed by England’s only active real roads venue.

Set to return to Scarborough post his latest TT expedition, for the Barry Sheene Festival (20th-21st June), he admitted he is not a fan of the new restrictor plate-based Sidecar TT regulations.

“You can’t spin the bike up and get it around the corners, you’ve got to just let it just drive around the corner.”

Putting this topic to one side, the twice top six finisher from TT 2016, is ultra enthused around the remainder of 2026 TT action.

Succintly answering the question, regarding main expectations this week, next week, he said:

“Enjoy and finish it in a good place.”
