Today’s TT 2025 update revolves around new wave IOM roads force Marcus Simpson, leading the returning Dynobike title sponsored WH Racing team’s 1000cc races tilt.
Last June, Simpson lapped close to the 126-mph lap mark, on route to a more than creditable twelfth in the Superbike race.
Keen for more forward progression, he’s sticking with Honda (CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP) apparatus for SBK, Superstock, Senior race contests of TT 2025.
Reflecting on the decision to compete for the Northumberland located, WH Racing outfit, the 2023 Senior Manx Grand Prix runner-up whose Super Twins races ride is the John Cuff Electrical Kawasaki, stated:
“The opportunity came to fruition in Macau where I met a member of the team, and the ball continued to roll from there.”
“As soon as I understood the team’s ethos, it was clear to see this was the right team for me.
After learning a lot from challenges last year, the most important thing for me this year is to have a positive, fun and enjoyable atmosphere within the garage, something which is also very important to WH Racing.”
When asked, is there any section, in-particular of the fabled, mythical Mountain Course, that he would like to decisively improve upon this year, ‘Spartacus’ said:
“As the TT course is still relatively new to me having only done 1 Manx Grand Prix and 1 TT, there is no specific sector I am looking to improve on just yet.
I am still learning in every mile of the 37-mile course and want to improve in all 37 of those!”
Tyres wise for TT 2025, he’s taken the decision to move to Metzeler rubber from Dunlop’s.
“Last year I ran Dunlop’s at the Northwest and TT on the big bike as a precaution to help with stability. However, this year, I am making the change to Metzeler on the big bike.”
In addition to TT 2025, Simpson’s new two-year deal with WH (Watson Holliday) Racing, sees him primed this year for action as well at the Briggs Equipment Northwest 200, Tandragee 100, Southern 100, Armoy ‘Race of Legends’ and Asia’s leading street race, the Macau Grand Prix.
