Effectively the 2025 TT Races launch event, the highlights package of the live TT podcast, titled Winning Lines, aired last night on the TT’s online digital channel, TT+.
So, what I did take away from the event’s festivities.
• Like a broken record this but again, same old questions asked.
• A flurry of non-committal answers from racers.
• Michael Dunlop was keeping his cards close to his chest, regarding inner details of TT 2025 machinery.
• The Crowe brothers Ryan & Callum pushed on whether a 121-mph lap was possible this year, outfit is undergoing aerodynamic work.
• Peter Hickman stated specific aspects about running Dunlop tyres, admitting that with Dunlop’s, the front tyre needs pushing to get the optimal maximum out of them.
• Hickman’s own PHR Performance outfit is x3 for TT 2025 with squad regular Pierre Yves Bian joined by Mountain Course newcomer Barry Burrell.
• Davey Todd’s 8TEN Racing BMW’s will be Metzeler tyres equipped.
• Ben Birchall went into detail about a major off-road incident post TT 2024, which through into jeopardy future racing plans.
• The event overall, felt similar in many aspects to the Northwest 200’s official launch show.
