Every racer taking in solo, Sidecar races within TT 2025, carries an interesting, varied back story.
In Michael ‘Jack’ Russell’s case, he noted it all down in a recently published new book (wrote by him), Middle of the Road – A Privateers Road Racer’s Story.
“If anyone from my school days said, you are going to be write a-book one day, if I would have said I was going to write a book one day, they would have just laughed.
It is going down well, people are enjoying it, reviews have been great and to have everyone that’s bought one, supported us with that has been great.”
For TT 2025, the 2009 Senior Manx Grand Prix is back solely competing on solo apparatus, riding Pipe Werx Exhausts supported ZX-10R Kawasaki, Fraser Evans Tyre Recycling backed 636 Kawasaki, and the Brook Built Racing RS 660 Aprilia.
Describing how his bout of TT 2025 Mountain Course practice panned out, on Tuesday night, he stated:
“Overall, really pleased because that ZX10 was a nightmare last year, it’s nice to sort of bed yourself in, the session was not bad, but it was a little bit of wait out and see.”
Expectations wise ahead of race-week, the nine times top twenty TT finisher, said:
“Aiming top ten in the Lightweight and Supersport, would be a win to us, to be fair top fifteen would a be win to us, we will see how it goes.
Big bike if we could aim towards the top twenty, would be great but end of the day if we come back in one piece and we can go again next year.
It is an honour to ride a bike around here anyway, I am lucky to do it, so just enjoying it.”
