TT 2025 Chat: Laxey Ace Joe Yeardsley

Senior Manx Grand Prix winner, Cain Road Race runner-up in 2023, top ten finisher from his TT debut last year, Laxey’s Joe Yeardsley is one of the Isle of Man’s most highly touted new wave roads scene talents.

Part of Trevor Scott’s, Scott Racing team this year, Yeardsley took a top five finish on debut at Cookstown whilst his first Northwest 200 venture, didn’t go entirely to plan.

Detailing why, speaking highly of Scott Racing, he said:

“Yeah, technical reasons were the only reasons why it was spoilt.

The weather was nice but electrical issue on the big bike made us go into limp mode every second lap and then we found a loose wire on the loom at the end of the week, so we were already back of the grid for the races then.”

“Trevor Scott’s team is a dream come true, lovely people, so passionate about racing.

Not a money-making exercise just passionate and here for the right reasons and the bikes are fantastic so feel very lucky.”

Last weekend, Yeardsley took in the Pre-TT Classic at Billown, riding the same bikes (Rutter Racing – K4 Honda, Mistral Racing – 750 Kawasaki) he will be astride during the reinstated Classic TT Races in August.

Junior 350 race winner, he elected not to participate in the Classic Superbike race, for which he had qualified on pole, due to prevailing course conditions, TT 2025 looming.

Admitting it could be his last Pre-TT Classic tenure, he stated “can’t really enjoy it the same”, given that TT action closely follows afterwards.

One majorly different aspect around TT 2025 for Yeardsley in difference to TT 2024, is joining the Superbike, Superstock, Senior races entry-lists.

A relative newcomer to 1000cc machinery, he’s aboard the RSV4 Aprilia Michael Browne piloted last year.

Succinctly commenting about this subject, the amiable Manxman stated:

“The Aprilia RSV4 for me is hard because it’s the first time riding the Superstock bike, but the power is so smooth on it with the traction control and all the electronics make it quite nice to ride.”
