TT 2024: Weeden, Dokoupil Secure 1000cc Rides

2016 Senior Manx Grand Prix winner Tom Weeden, 2016 Irish Road Race Lightweight 400/450 Champion, multiple Ulster Grand Prix winner Michal ‘Indi’ Dokoupil will both delve back into 1000cc races competition at TT 2024.

Maidstone’s Weeden, eleven times a top thirty TT finisher, big-bike steed is courtesy of now retired Mountain Course racer Dave Hewson.

Hewson is supplying him with his trusty Obsession Engineering BMW, on which he took 32nd, 35th place finishes during TT 2023.

Czech ace Dokoupil in contrast is going green, racing a ZX-10RR Kawasaki for French suitors Team Mecca Prestige.

It’s fourteen years since he last raced a 1000cc mount at the TT Races.

Despite this fact and aware of the challenges ahead, Dokoupil is enthused about the prospect of rejoining the Superbike, Superstock, Senior race fields.

Same as fellow paddock favourite Weeden, he’s actively looking at besting his present PB lap speed, which stands currently at 122.622 mph.

Weeden’s PB lap speed is marginally quicker, nearing the 123-mph mark, (122.89).
