TT 2023: Pace Ramps Up, Harrison Leads Superbike Q3
Qualifying day three at TT 2023, yep already three days in, how time flies.

This evening’s solo qualifying stint held in top draw conditions, opened on schedule at 6:30 PM.

First on track was the Superbikes, Superstock 1000’s with Monster Energy by FHO Racing’s Peter Hickman first away.

As standing start laps concluded, the 133-mph lap mark had been cracked into as DAO Racing’s Dean Harrison lapped at 133.284 mph (16:59.089 seconds).

Michael Dunlop set the Superstock standard, lapping at 132.694 mph, emerging 6.005 seconds quicker than world’s fastest road racer Hickman (131.920).

Onto the flying laps and triple TT winner Harrison went a touch faster, registering a lap time of 16 minutes 57.329 seconds, equating speed wise to 133.514 mph.

Nine times TT victor Hickman (133.284) then jumped to the helm of the Superstock times sheet, going 133 mph plus.

John McGuinness MBE rolled back the years with a 130-mph lap, fellow TT veteran Michael Rutter (129.147), also showed strong form.

KTS Racing Powered by Steadplan’s Jamie Coward (130.94), SMT Racing’s Rob Hodson (127.383), Jim Hind (125.746), Stephen Smith (125.05), Chris Sarbora (121.097) all banked unofficial PB’s.

Towards the session’s conclusion, Hawk Racing’s Dunlop neared Harrison’s SBK leader-board topping lap time, recording through despite been short lapped due to Supersport, Super Twins qualifying beginning, at 133.367 mph.

Harrison, Dunlop, Hickman (131.862), Coward, Conor Cummins (130.615), McGuinness MBE went onto finish Wednesday night’s six quickest big bike pilots.

Respective seventh to tenth quickest were Macau GP wins record holder Rutter, James Hillier (128.976), Phil Crowe (128.131) and last year’s Classic Superbike Manx GP Champion Hodson.
