History defines the TT Races and more history was made tonight by Ben Birchall & Tom Birchall, setting a new unofficial Sidecar TT lap record.
The 12 times event winners latest tumultuous Mountain Course feat, arose post their standing start lap this evening, which saw them average 119.414 mph, equating timing wise to 19 minutes 57.450 seconds.
Top chasers to the flying Birchalls were FHO Racing’s Pete Founds/Jevan Walmsley (117.587).
Haven Homes supported Ryan Crowe/Callum Crowe continued their solid progress, finishing third fastest (116.142).
An additional four crews attainted lap speeds boasting 110.5 mph, eight times World Champion Tim Reeves/Mark Wilkes (111.841), John Holden/Maxime Vasseur (111.706), Gary Bryan/Phil Hyde (110.878) and the Ramsden’s Steve & Matty (110.863).
Finalising the top ten from tonight’s record-breaking Sidecar qualifying session were swiftest newcomer driver Daryl Gibson/Tom Christie (109.795), Dan Knight/Ben Hughes (108.218), Greg Lambert/Andrew Haynes (107.502).
Alan Founds now alongside Colin Smyth, placed 11th fastest overall whilst in total 22 outfits registered representative lap times.
