Over the past ten years at the North West 200, 15 racers have registered speed trap timings exceeding 200 mph, including races speed trap record holder Bruce Anstey.

The opening NW200 Superbike encounter of 2016 saw the genial New Zealander aboard the Valvoline Padgetts Honda Fireblade, on the run to University Corner near 210 mph! recording a confirmed speed of 209.8 mph.

Fastest BMW mounted competitor is 16 times TT winner Ian Hutchinson (207.2) whilst quickest Yamaha machinery pilot is ex Grand Prix racer Jeremy McWilliams (201.6).

Racers not mentioned thus far to have exceeded 200 mph during the past decade are: Michael Dunlop (205.9), Michael Rutter (205.9), Conor Cummins (204.7), John McGuinness (204), Gary Johnson (202.8).

Current two times successive Steve Henshaw Gold Cup winner Lee Johnston (202.8), David Johnson (202.8), TT Races lap record holder Peter Hickman (202.2), Stuart Easton (202), Martin Jessopp (202), the most successful racer in NW200 history Alastair Seeley (201.6) and IRRC great Didier Grams (201).

Notable names who haven’t as yet topped 200 mph in race conditions at the North West include Dean Harrison, James Hillier, Jamie Coward and Honda Racing’s Glenn Irwin.
