Summer Night Series, Round 3: Roads Competitor Watch

2024 Senior TT runner-up Josh Brookes, ended 2026 Motul Summer Night Series racing stints in proficient manner, racking up one race win, five top three finishes.

The DAO Racing rider’s event presence looked to be in doubt, following a Dunlop international road racing (Briggs Equipment Northwest 200/TT Races) tyre test incident at Sydney Motorsport Park, which left his Honda steed damaged.

Instead, the Bringelly rider for last week’s Summer Night Series competition contests, brought out of racing retirement (last raced in 2017), his own R1 Yamaha.

Showing tenacious, clever race craft, the former Classic TT race winner went onto bank F1/F2 Unlimited Race Five honours, edging out Yamaha Australia team’s Jonathan ‘JJ’ Nahlous.

Set to go testing soon in Spain, Brookes 2026 NW200/TT plans remain as of today, a secret albeit paddock whispers suggest BSB suitors DAO Racing, could return to the roads with Australia’s quickest Mountain Course exponent.
