2023 Senior Manx Grand Prix runner-up Marcus Simpson will return to Scarborough shores for next month’s Bob Smith Spring Cup.
Last year at July’s Cock O’The North meeting, ‘Spartacus’ made quite the Oliver’s Mount debut, lapping below 1 minute 50.5 seconds, collecting top three finishes.
The final, six-lap Super Twins race saw Simpson remarkably join the Scarborough winners circle, following a terrific scrap with Mad Bros Racing’s Gary McCoy.
For the two-day Spring Cup, the Tommy Club member has it his disposal the LMR Powered by Jon Cuff Electrical ER6 Kawasaki, MGB Racing 750 Kawasaki and a to be confirmed Supersport steed.
One of the most rapid circuit newcomers of recent times, his inclusion within the Spring Cup entry list, is another positive fillip for event organisers.
Racers due to join Simpson for the UK roads season opener include Tom Weeden, Barry Furber, fellow countryman Joe Yeardsley, SMT Racing’s Rob Hodson, Lee Crawford, and Team ILR with Frog Vehicle Developments Jacque Foley.
