By On a day when nine times World Champion Valentino Rossi has announced his retirement from Moto GP, it only seems fitting to focus on another Italian two wheel racing hero, Stefano Bonetti.
European Hill Climb Superbike Championship leader, Bonetti fresh from sampling the IRRC Chimay meet was back on CIVS (Campionato Italiano Velocita) Italian Hill Climb Championship duties at the Gragnana-Varliano time trial.
In spite of mixed conditions, ‘Bonny’ went onto claim successive 1000cc race triumphs plus take Naked class Race 2 honours.
Fellow countryman, Hill Climb specialist Maurizio Bottalico joined the aforementioned 2019 Senior Classic TT runner-up on the event winners list.
Bottalico shared Supersport spoils with Stefano Nari whilst others to claim victories included Dario Montalti (250 Two Strokes), Tiziano Rosati (Superstock 600), Fabio Ricca (Quad Bikes), Carmine Matarazzo (Supermoto).
