By The 2023 FIM Europe affiliated European Hill Climb Championship, opened on Saturday, Sunday at the acclaimed Landshaag course (Mountain Race) in Austria.
International road racing alumni racing included Italian TT hero, North West 200 winner, Classic TT podium finisher Stefano Bonetti.
Yamaha powered for the Supersport, 1000cc races of TT 2023, ‘Bonny’ finished runner-up in both Superbike time trials, which were won by GSX-R 1000 Suzuki mounted Andreas Gangl.
New Team ILR with Frog Vehicle Developments signing Maurizio Bottalico, led the Superstock 1000 fraternity plus set the overall third fastest lap time.
An impressive Manx GP newcomer last year, Bottalico also finished P2 on the Superstock 600 times sheet behind Emanuel Reisinger.
The second round of the 2023 European Hill Climb Road Race Championship series, will see competitors making another trip to Austria, to take on the Julbach course.
The meeting co-insides with TT 2023’s conclusion, running from the 10th to the 11th of June.
