Next to feature in Road Racing News, new One Incredible IRRC Moment series, is 2022 IRRC Superbike Championship runner-up, Germany’s fastest TT Races exponent, David Datzer.
Macau GP podium finisher times two, the outright lap record holder at Dymokury and Horice, his favourite
recollection from his time sampling IRRC (International Road Racing Championship) events to date, is as follows:
“One of my special IRRC moments was winning the IRRC/300 Curves of Gustav Havel (Horice), event in 2021.
Corona had made life difficult for us, I managed to get my first win on the track where I got into road racing in 2015!
And since this victory in 2021 I am undefeated in Hořice and with 7 more wins in the record books! For me, that was the ‘starting shot’ of my current career path.”
David continued:
“Another special moment was the event in Frohburg 2023, in which I only took part as a wildcard driver.
If you were there in 2017, I was injured and physically very broken, going forward I asked for my current wife’s hand in marriage, and I fell there every year.
I was determined that a victory on the triangle (Frohburger Dreieck) would arise at some point.
In 2023 I was able to get two victories that no one thought was possible! Yes, those were my special moments.”
