Supersport (A) races winner x2 during the latest Barry Sheene Festival, in stern contention earlier this month for Steve Henshaw Gold Cup honours, his answers to the set of questions, are as follows:
Q1: First memory of Oliver’s Mount?
“Stood at the start finish watching John McGuinness on a 250, when I was around 5 or 6.”
Q2: Favourite part about racing at the mount?
“My favourite part about the racing, is the nature of the circuit and the type of racing it breeds.”
Q3: Favourite section of Scarborough course?
“Jefferies Jumps”
Q4: Best moment thus far at Scarborough?
“Leading the Gold Cup race over Mike Browne was amazing, until the bike broke down that is.”
Q5: All time Scarborough racing hero?
“My all-time Scarborough hero has to be Ian Lougher.”
Q6: Is there one machine in particular that you would like to race at Scarborough?
“I would love to ride a blade (Honda) around there. Huge shame they don’t do it anymore (1000cc racing), I think it would be really good fun!”
Q7: One word to describe Oliver’s Mount?
“Draining!”
Q8: Most respected racing rival at Scarborough?
“I enjoyed sharing the track with James Hind. I have lots of respect for what he’s done so far with the roads, and we have had some great races together.”
