Alongside Superstock, Superbike race tilts aboard the SMS/Nicholl Oils M1000RR BMW, Northwest 200 wins record holder Alastair Seeley, eagerly anticipated Triangle course return sees him back amongst the Supersport field, thanks to a joint project between CD (Chris Dowd) Racing and Kawasaki Team Green technical specialists MSS Performance.
Set to ride under the CD Racing by MSS Performance, Seeley has ZXR 636 Kawasaki equipment for Fraser Homes, Tides Restaurant sponsored Supersport contests.
Ultra hungry for an historic 30th NW200 success, the ‘Wee Wizard’ stated about today’s international road racing update:
“I said I would come back to the Northwest if I could get competitive machinery and that is what I have now.
I will be leaving nothing on the table now that we have bikes that are good enough to do the job. Sometimes a year’s wait can be worth it because it makes you even hungrier to put on a good show.
I want that 30th win and the Supersport races are usually the closest battles at the Northwest with the result not being sorted out until the last lap. Weather can play a big part as well, but I’m not worried about it being wet or dry.”
CD Racing, Team Owner Chris Dowd, feels that the Carrickfergus rider is the one for the job, to give his outfit a long awaited first NW200 victory.
“We came close in 2006 when Rob Frost finished second to Ian Hutchinson.
I have always wanted to come back and finish the job, and my rider of choice is Alastair Seeley who is as keen as I am to come back to Portrush and win.”
MSS Performance’s Nick Morgan, added:
“There is nostalgia for us here and we want to do it all again. MSS has a long history with riders from Ireland including Mark Farmer, Stephen Thompson, Richard Britton and William Dunlop and the Northwest 200 is an event anybody who loves road racing wants to compete in.
This is a great opportunity for us to race with the event’s most successful rider and hopefully we can help Alastair get that 30th win.”
