Maurer Goes Blue For IRRC Title Defence

Ending a lengthy, successful association with Kawasaki, Lukas Maurer’s IRRC Superbike title defence in 2024, will see him go blue, switching to R1 Yamaha power.

Speaking this evening via Facebook, Switzerland’s fastest TT Races exponent stated:

“Big announcement!! Of course I will disrupt the BMW Road Racing Party in 2024 as well. I will be piloting a Yamaha R1 next year.

Peter Hostettler is known to be a big fan of Road Racing, and this is how we agreed on a good deal.

My two bikes were provided super quickly, and I was allowed to receive them in Sursee, at the Yamaha main warehouse.”

Maurer went onto add:

“Currently, I’m hard at work building a machine for racing. Of course, I must get on the new bike first and go test it for a few days.

Super excited for the first rollout with my new work equipment though. I’m sure I can relate to the achievements already made.”
