Holder of the number 1 plate for last year’s Newcomers A Manx GP encounter, Valencia based Victor Ortega Perez is the latest racer to take part in Road Racing News rising in popularity, Manx GP Top 6 series.
Keen to return this year to Manx shores, the Ducati Valencia mechanic’s answers to the Mountain Course themed set of questions are as follows:
Q1: When you first competed at the Manx, what was your first initial thought of the Mountain Course?
“My first though was; You’ve done it, here you are!”
Q2: Most memorable Manx GP bike?
“I was shocked last year by Royce Rowe’s Ducati Super Twin, beautiful piece of kit, loved it.”
Q3: Most treasured memory from the Manx?
“During practice, Danny Webb overtook me on the RG500 (Suzuki) braking for Bungalow corner, I followed him from there until Brandywell, smelling and listening to the 2 stroke engine. Wow.
During racing, the tap on the shoulder before the Newcomers race, first time with the feeling of racing against the clock on the Mountain Course.”

Q4: Is there one specific Manx GP competitor that you look up to?
“I admire each one of them, but I look up to my main references, Nuno Caetano and Rodger Wibberley, both fast riders and also top persons.”
Q5: Describe the Manx GP in one word?
“Paradise”
Q6: Finally, if you could race one machine from any series, championship around the Mountain Course, what would it be?
“Norton Rotary machine.”
