A fine fifth in last August’s Junior Classic TT, renowned yesteryear machinery specialist Hefyn Owen is the next competitor to take part in Road Racing News, rising in popularity Manx GP Top 6 series.
Overall five times a top 10 finisher from Classic TT, Manx GP affiliated action, his answers to the Mountain Course themed set of questions are as follows:
Q1: When you first competed at the Manx, what was your first initial thought of the Mountain Course?
“What the hell am I doing here?! I’d never been so fast for so long in my life!”
Q2: Most memorable Manx GP bike?
“Seeley G50, my favourite bike around the TT course.”

Q3: Most treasured memory from the Manx?
“Riding almost a full lap (I broke down at hillberry) with my Dad in 2015, I learnt a lot that lap! Or maybe my first 100 mph average on a 500 classic single from Wednesday practice session of 2016, that meant a lot.”
Q4: Is there one specific Manx GP competitor that you look up to?
“It’s got to be the old man (Meredydd Owen), I mean it’s all his fault really he dragged me there when I was 4 and I haven’t missed a year since.”
Q5: Describe the Manx GP in one word?
“Family”
Q6: Finally, if you could race one machine from any series, championship around the Mountain Course, what would it be?
“A Moto 3 machine would be a lot of fun round there I think!”
