It’s of course at the present time, the TT Races on the big screen but additionally this upcoming weekend, it’s the Kopcany Road Races (14th edition (‘Kopciansky Motookruh’) held near Czech borders in Slovakia.
The starting field includes several interesting names, for example domestic Slovak aces David ‘Predator’ Hanzalik and Tomas Toth (Superbike race winner at 300 Curves of Gustav Havel – Horice, last month).
European Hill Climb Road Race Championship star Thomas ‘Uccio’ Altendorfer and David Schaberreiter from Austria, Italian Mario Christian Ciullo and Czech road racers Tomas Borovka, Michal Podrabsky (IRRC wild card at Hengelo last month) or Marek Stibor in Superbike.
Big names in the Supersport category will be aside already mentioned Altendorfer, Hanzalik and Toth, IRRC 2025 riders Marek Cerveny (five-times IRRC Supersport Champion), Martin ‘Baci’ Baca, Matej Vit and Daniel Chovanec. They will be supplemented by Florian Glashauser from Germany, Norbert Szczepanek from Poland plus Martin Hulin, Maxim Zanaska, Czech female rider Kristyna ´Kiki´ Jakesch (Racetastic4 by Datzii #55 Road Racing Team) and others.
The Super Twins start-list contains first, second placed competitors from last month’s 300 Curves of Gustav Havel, Super Twins race, the above-featured Marek Cerveny and Jan Markalous with twice previously showcased David Hanzalik, Martin Hulin, Martin Baca plus Jan Nehasil, Rene Horak, David Rezac, Tomas Svolinsky, Jan Herzog, Martin Hrstka, Lukas Walter, Lubos Konak and Slovakian rider Ludovit Krusina.
We find in remaining classes, potential race winning contenders like GP 125 lap record holder at Horice, Christopher Eder and German legend Chris Meyer, both entered within the GP 125, 250 Open races.
Marek Zima should feature prominently in the Sport Production 125 race whilst the Supersport 400, Supermono entry-lists include Petr Plichta, Milan Hanzalik, Patrik Horak, Matous ´Maty´ Ondrusz, Petr Hulin, Ondrej Bulvas, Daniel ´Zorni´ Zornweg and various other, fast riders not highlighted here.
Czech racing inventory, 70 years young Karel Kalina, proves that age is just a number, tackling this weekend, Classic 500 and Classic legend contests, astride a TZ 250 Yamaha.
It is good to remember that brothers David Hanzalik and Milan Hanzalik, active racers for this upcoming weekend, are main organisers of this great meeting. Thanks to them for this and may everyone enjoy the racing!
