IRRC Schleiz Summary

Supersport:

Performance Racing Achterhoek’s Jorn Hamberg, stellar start to his 2023 IRRC Supersport Championship tilt, continued at Schleizer Dreieck.

Dominant in the 12-lap Supersport opener, he finished 8.238 seconds ahead of prime Championship rival Marek Cerveny.

Czech roads great Cerveny, once again proved top chaser to the on-fire Hamberg within the following middleweight class stint.

This time Hamberg took the race honours by the more modest margin of 3.124 seconds.

Event wildcard Philipp Stich took a brace of third place finishes whilst Sebastian Frotscher, Manx Grand Prix front runner, JLG/NCE Racing’s Jamie Williams enjoyed a positive day (4th June) acquiring top six, top ten finishes.

Superbike:

Event wildcards Marc Reiner Schmidt, Julian Puffe, Ville Valtonen filled the rostrum finishing positions in both IRRC Superbike encounters at Germany’s oldest street-circuit Schleizer Dreieck.

Top IRRC exponent from the 12-lap Superbike race challenges, gaining fifty Championship points was Patrick Hoff, who was a visitor in winter to the Isle of Man alongside David Datzer and prospective Manx GP newcomer Andreas Jochum.

Neumann Racing BMW pilot Hoff, kept at bay in yesterday’s 1000cc racing stints, current IRRC Superbike Championship leader Lukas Maurer, who is now 20 points in front of 24 plate holder Hoff.

Multi IRRC Champions Didier Grams, Vincent Lonbois also bagged on Sunday a decent handful of points.

Same notion applied to Joey Den Besten, Swedish ace Markus Karlsson, Florian Astner and MTP Racing’s improving Johannes Schwimmbeck.
