Erno Kostamo created his own unique piece of history, this evening, making it an unprecedented eleven consecutive Imatranajo Superbike wins.
Untouchable within the earlier Open SBK race, the opening ten-lap IRRC SBK race burst saw Kostamo (RVS Motorsport BMW) in even more dominant, mighty form.
Chased hard in early laps by Eemeli Lahti, by lap four he had moved nigh on 2.9 seconds to the good out front.
The race lead expanded and expanded from here as Finland’s swiftest TT Races participant entered ignition go + mode, setting for three successive laps (six-eight) new outright Jarno Saarinen Circuit Imatra lap-records, chalking up the first, official sub 1.49 second lap times, (new outright lap record – 1.48.743).
His final, race winning gap to eventual second place finisher, following previously mentioned Eemeli Lahti retiring on lap six, Kenny Koskinen (HRT Racing Kawasaki) was a quite impressive 19.132 seconds.
An enthralling three-way clash for third, would go the way of Ville Valtonen, edging Supersport lap-record attainer Adam McLean and Niko Lehtiranta.
Markus Karlsson seized sixth with respective seventh to tenth place clinchers, been Darryl Tweed, Wally Jacobs, Laurent Hoffmann and Fedrik Matthys.
