With wet weather impeding progress in terms of lap times during this afternoon’s timed competition, start positions for tomorrow’s IRRC Supersport races were ultimately determined by competitors personal best lap times from the opening qualifying session.
Fastest during Q1, edging out Performance Racing Achterhoek team mate, Supersport Championship challenger Ilja Caljouw was Jorn Hamberg, thanks to late burst of pace resulting in a best lap time of 1 minute 40.177 seconds.
North Czech Riders supported Petr Najman (1.40.633) placed third fastest behind the above showcased Caljouw whilst Supersport Championship favourite Pierre Yves Bian (1.41.152) finished fourth quickest.
Fifth quickest, IRRC Frohburg round wildcard Thomas Walther (1.41.719) was the final racer to lap sub 1 minute 42 seconds.
Finalising the ten most rapid middleweight class qualifiers were Optimark Road Racing’s Xavier Denis (1.42.708), Mauro Poncini (1.43.229), Moto 2 pilot Henrik Voit (1.43.441), Philipp Stich (1.43.539) and Rico Vetter (1.43.862).
