Rewarded for his record-breaking TT achievements, Michael Dunlop was crowned last night Irish Motorcyclist of The Year for the second time, ten years after his first award triumph in 2014.
On stage, he gave an entertaining, honest interview, paying tribute to the team around him, sponsors including Stuart Hicken of Hawk Racing.
Whilst not giving much away, when chatting to Stephen Watson, he does seem keen to continue running his own team this year, remain with the Hawk squad, whom he has captured three Senior TT wins with.
Before holding aloft, the Joey Dunlop Irish Motorcyclist of The Year trophy, ‘Maverick’ was winner of the International Road Racer of The Year accolade.
Glenn Irwin, Davey Todd’s invigorating fight for Superbike race three spoils at the Briggs Equipment Northwest 200 (awarded No.1 event of 2024), picked up the Race of The Year whilst Brotton’s Todd collected the unique looking King of The Roads trophy, for a second time.
His now former suitors TAS Racing, scooped Team of The Year honours. On Stage Philip Neill intriguingly sounded confident about TAS having a roads scene presence in 2025, contrary to previous public made comments.
