I’ll be the first to admit, when I first noticed online, the words Michael Laverty (ex Moto GP rider/ten times British Superbike race winner) running a pure road racing team this year, I thought really!
Once I delved further though, it became forthrightly apparent that this information was 100 percent correct, MLav Racing to the Briggs Equipment Northwest 200 and TT Races!
As first disclosed on TNT Sports Moto GP’s coverage, they are set to align with 16 times TT victor Ian Hutchinson and former Irish Road Race Supersport Champion, Southern 100 race winner Michael Browne.
Hutchinson, Browne are expected to be BMW powered for 1000cc NW200, TT contests.
It’s still not official as to whether the pair will be either astride the older-spec S1000RR model or the newer M1000RR steed.
Adding an intriguing new element to international road racing events in 2025, it’s going to be interesting to see how competitive the project is, competing against experienced, ultra-determined independent, semi-works, factory teams/riders.
