Hutchinson Adds Padgetts 600 To NW200 Machinery Roster

In addition to competing on the factory Honda Racing Superstock/Superbike SP2 Fireblade’s, Ian Hutchinson will also pilot at this years Vauxhall International North West 200, a Padgetts Racing 600 Honda in the six lap Supersport races.

Obviously when you think of the Hutchinson/Padgetts combination, you immediately think of the illustrious five race wins in a week achievement of 2010, which included at the time victories in two keenly fought Monster Energy Supersport races.

Additionally Bingley rider Hutchinson’s Padgetts Supersport CV also includes, one middleweight class success at the NW200 from back in 2010, plus multiple rostrum finishes at Oliver’s Mount and the Ulster Grand Prix.

Given his lack of track time, in comparison to his fellow competitors, added to the fact he hasn’t as yet piloted his new Padgetts Honda steed, it’s difficult to state as to how competitive he will be this week on the Triangle course.

Commenting on this topic, plus how the last minute deal with Padgetts arose, he stated:

“Originally I had planned to ride with the Honda Racing team in all three races, but because I didn’t know until just two weeks ago that I would be able to race those plans changed.

Clive’s circumstances had also changed with Bruce Anstey not riding this year so we were able to get the deal sorted.”

He continued:

“Tuesday practice will be steady but it will tell me where I am at with everything. I haven’t walked for almost 11 months so I need to try to keep progressing in small steps.”
