Current Southern 100 Champions, five times TT race runner-up’s Pete Founds/Jevan Walmsley, unlocked a new level or two this afternoon at Anglesey (Wirral 100 Motor Club Round 3).
Victorious in yesterday’s opening ACU/FSRA (Formula Sidecar Racing Association) British F2 Sidecar Championship race, today’s three-wheeling contest beginning just before 12:40 PM would see the FHO Racing pairing, on-record breaking form, setting a new F2 Sidecars lap record of 1 minute 12.033 seconds.
Such was Founds/Walmsley’s speed, that the quality opposition behind, led by Lee Crawford/Scott Hardie, was close to seventeen seconds in arrears at the 16-lap races’ conclusion.
The Ramsdens Steve & Matty captured third with fourth attained by top Cup class competitors, Kieran Clarke/Andy Johnson.
Carl Fenwick/Phil Knapton, like Crawford/Hardie, the Ramsdens, consistent front-runners at Oliver’s Mount, Scarborough, finished in fifth place.
Concluding the top six finishers was Wayne Lockey & former TT lap record-holder alongside Dave Molyneux, Ben Binns.
